How do I apply for benefits?

  1. Veterans On-Line applicationVONAPP
  2. Complete On-Line LAVC application CCC Apply
  3. Take the Placement Test (Math and English) Assessment Center
  4. Attend new student orientation either in person or on-line
  5. Schedule appointment with counselor (on-line).  Note:  If you have transcripts from outside LACCD, you must request transcripts to be sent directly to LAVC prior scheduling the appointment.  Do not use the on-line system to schedule the appointment.  Please call 818 947-2600 x 4200 to schedule 1-hour appointment for a transcript evaluation.
  6. Apply for Financial Aid FAFSA

 Benefits Available To Veterans

 If you qualify for benefits and wish to attend Los Angeles Valley College, our office will act as the designated liaison with the regional office of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). We can provide you with one-on-one assistance and counseling in the administration of your benefits. There are four Chapters under which you may fall:

  • Chapter 30 - Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty (MGIB-AD)
  • Chapter 31 - Vocational Rahabilitation Program (VPR)
  • Chapter 33 - Post-9/11 GI Bill
  • Chapter 35 - Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance Program (DEA)
  • Chapter 1606 - Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)
  • Chapter 1607 - Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
  • Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP)
  • Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
  • Educational Assistance Test Program (Section 901)
