Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the Upward Bound Program at Los Angeles Valley College. It is my sincere hope that students and their families will take full advantage of all that Upward Bound, LAVC, Grant and Van Nuys High School have to offer. Education is the key to unlocking the door to your dreams. The Upward Bound Staff are highly educated and committed individuals; challenging and assisting students to reach their academic goals. We are a community of learners; here to provide motivation and encouragement. We look forward to working with you and your family.

As the oldest of five and a first generation college student, Yovanna is currently working on completing her Master’s in Business Administration at Cal State LA. She will be working in the Upward Bound office to help students reach their goals of pursuing post-secondary education. Yovanna knows and understands the plight of the low-income and first generation college bound student and she will be a great asset to our students and program.
