Study Away in Alicante, Spain - Summer 2012

This program has been canceled

Sunset in Spain

When you think of Spanish culture, you're likely to evoke a host of images -from flamenco dancers to bullfighters, tortillas to tapas, and cobblestone streets to Mediterranean coasts. Spain has a unique and exciting culture to share, and LAVC has teamed up with The Center for Cross-Cultural Study (CC-CS) to help students immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture this summer 2012.

LAVC invites you to experience the best that Spain has to offer. From the Museo del Prado and the Royal Palace in Madrid to the coastal beauty of Alicante, you will immerse in an authentic cultural and linguistic experience.

Alicante, the jewel of the Costa Blanca on the Spanish Mediterranean, is a modern and yet pleasantly relaxed city, perfect for the students' cultural immersion. Alicante provides a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with many opportunities to meet Spanish students and enjoy the local culture. LAVC students study onsite at Universidad de Alicante, which allows students at any Spanish language level the opportunity to become integrated into Spanish student life.

Because of its rich history, the kilometers of beaches, the civil and architectural legacy of the historic quarter, and the varied cuisine of the area, Alicante is also a major tourist destination for Spaniards and Europeans.
