Temporary Water Shutdown to Monarch Stadium
August 28, 2014
On Thursday, August 28, domestic water will be shut down to the Monarch Stadium to install a backflow preventer at the utility enclosure. The work will begin at 6 a.m. and will last approximately for a half day. The work is related to the new Community Services Center project. Construction Fencing Installation for the New Valley Glen Gateway Building
August 26-28, 2014
Beginning Tuesday, August 26, Pankow will be starting the erection of the site construction fencing around the old Administration Building in preparation for the start of construction of the new Valley Glen Gateway (VGG) building project. Work will take place between 6 a.m.-3 p.m. and is anticipated to end on Thursday, August 28. Please refer to this site logistics plans for details and lay down area. During this time, staff parking spaces on College Road South will continue to be available, and the area will not be fenced off until a later date; this fencing is shown in red on the plan. A temporary ADA ramp will be constructed on the south side of the Foreign Language Building in anticipation of closing the ADA ramp to the building on the north side. Personnel Gates, as shown on the site logistics plan, will remain open for pedestrian traffic until the actual start of construction, which is scheduled for September. Hatteras Street, Campus Drive, and Collins Street will be Closed to Vehicle Access Due to Construction Activities
March 10, 2014 – Further Notice
Starting on March 10, 2014, Hatteras Street, Campus Drive, and Collins Street will be closed to all vehicles except delivery, construction, and emergency vehicles until further notice. This restriction does not apply to the Business Office staff, patrons of the Adaptive PE Center in the North Gym and access to the parking on the east side of the Campus Center. Partial Shutdown of Campus Drive to Commence Construction of New Monarch Center Building
November 14, 2013 – March 1, 2015
Beginning on Thursday, November 14, construction for the new Monarch Center will begin and will permanently shut down Campus Drive between Emelita and Hatteras Street. The estimated completion date for this construction work is March 1, 2015. The orange area in this illustration shows the fencing and construction zones for the Monarch Center project. As shown, the location for this project will be the area that currently houses the Cafeteria Building, Campus Drive, and the walkways adjacent to the cafeteria building. The work for this project will take place between 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The corner of Hatteras and Campus Drive will serve as the contractor lay down area. Limited Parking on Ethel Avenue, Emelita Street, and West Hatteras Street Due to the Demolition of the Softball Field and Construction of a New Parking Structure
June 10, 2013 – September 8, 2014
Beginning on June 10, 2013, a new project will be underway which will involve demolition of the softball field to make way for a new parking structure; this project is expected to take about 305 days, reaching completion on September 8, 2014. During this time, there will be limited circulation and parking on Ethel Avenue and no parking on West Hatteras and Emelita Street. Pedestrian access will also be reduced on the walkways at Emelita Street and Ethel Avenue and there will be moderate noise from construction equipment. Both the Business Office and the adjacent parking lot will remain in place until the completion of the new Monarch Center, a project which will be presented in a future notification. Please note: The area within the intersections of Emelita Street, Ethel Avenue, West Hatteras, and Campus Drive, will be fenced off (with the exception of the temporary Business Office and the adjacent parking lot) and from December 2013-January 2014 both Emelita Street and West Hatteras Street will be closed as shown in this illustration. In addition, a temporary construction trailer will be located on Hatteras Street, to the south of the Business Office, which is also shown in this illustration.All work will be done on Monday-Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information regarding this project, contact Robert Tellez of Yang Management at (818) 756-0950.
Parking Lot E and Part of Parking Lot L Closed Due to Construction of the New Community Services Center
April 15, 2013 – September 22, 2014
Construction activities for the new Community Services Center will commence on April 15, 2013; the anticipated completion date will be September 22, 2014. During construction, Parking Lot E and part of Parking Lot L will be closed, and vehicle and pedestrian access around the project area will be limited. There will also be noise, dust, and smoke from construction equipment associated with this project. Fencing will be installed as shown in this illustration. The contractor lay-down area will be within the construction site.
