fyi note graphicTelephone Outage for Data Center Relocation Project

September 19, 20, 2014

On Friday, September 19, 2014, there will be a telephone outage from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. as a result of the final phase of moving the data center to the new Omega Data Center. The migration of telephone systems to the new location will result in voice mail being down throughout campus. Most incoming and outgoing call routings will be down; with the exception of extensions in Admin 1, Admin 3, the Sheriff’s Office (818-947-2911), and Services for Students with Disabilities (818-947-2679). On Saturday, September 20, all areas of campus will be evaluated to assure that services are functioning as expected. During this time, analog lines might have static, a busy signal, or no dial tone. An alternate circuit for certain areas will be established as backup lines to minimize the impact of the move and reduce the downtime of the migration. For more information about the telephone outage, contact the LAVC Information Technology Office at (818) 947-2489.
