Summary of advisory committee decisions on flex
Flex should involve extra work beyond expected job duties — grading papers does not qualify.
Based on faculty requests, we agreed to the following:
Conferences = maximum of 6.7 hours per day
Additional committee service = a maximum of 6.7 hours per semester (except hiring, evaluation, or ad hoc
task forces = number of hours served, up to a maximum of 6.7)
Service Learning = 3 hours per class
TAP (honors) classes = 6.7 hours per class
Flex credit is not given for attending social events (e.g., the Dean's Reception, the Winter Holiday luncheon).
