PASS (Preparing All Students for Success)

In 2010, LAVC embarked on a new campus-wide approach to help strengthen the college’s strategies for improving student success called “Preparing All Students for Success” (PASS).
The PASS approach was developed based on the work of Achieving the Dream (ATD), a national consortium focused on helping more community college students succeed. Using the strategies of ATD, LAVC has created a toolbox to assist the college in using data more effectively to help close achievement gaps and improve student outcomes.
As part of this effort, the college has assembled a new PASS Team, which is comprised of college faculty, staff, administrators and students, to help establish the college’s student success goals and guide the college’s work towards improving student success. Information about PASS, including meeting agenda and minutes, and information about upcoming events are available on this website.
The work of PASS is now focused on five initiatives: Welcome Fair, Global Cohort, Clear Pathways, Accelerated Math, and Tutoring. For more information about these initiatives, see the initiatives page and additional information such as proposals and presentations on the toolbox page.
