LAVC - Metro Bridge Training Graduates 20

March 6, 2009 -- Continuing a highly successful partnership with the Employment Development Department (EDD), Metro-Wilshire Worksource Center, The Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles, and Metro (MTA), Los Angeles Valley College Job Training assisted with the successful graduation of 20 individuals in a ceremony held at the Metro offices in downtown Los Angeles.

Among the graduates, were six veterans who received special recognition for their military service. In a presentation by Michael Dolphin (Division Chief, Los Angeles-Ventura WorkSource Services Division), the six received specially designed certificates for their "dedicated service to the United States of America."

Next for the graduates are interviews with Metro, on their way to becoming full-time bus operators.

This graduation follows one two weeks prior which was highlighted on Fox News Channel 11.

This is the 20th graduation Job Training has held with the MTA, with more than 200 individuals gaining employment with the city.
