Job Training Presents at Employee Training Conference

May 24, 2004 -- Los Angeles Valley College Job Training presented two key seminars about online learning Friday at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys.

Job Training, a recognized leader in using online learning to compliment classroom instruction, has been highly effective in solving two major challenges facing workplace education: helping individuals find time in their busy schedules for class as well as continuous learning in the post-training period. Additionally, online instruction allows students to learn at their own pace and convenience.

The discussion, hosted by LAVC speech communication professor Jim Marteney, focused on utilizing the virtual class to reinforce and expand what's done in the on-site course, as well as setting up course content, using interactive forums to discuss questions facing participants, and how messages can be sent between participants and instructors without taking up any computer resources of the clients. Finally, the interactive seminar included ideas in providing training in new digital media in relation to entertainment and education.

The popular event, organized and hosted by the Economic Alliance, was attended by numerous businesses and schools from throughout the San Fernando Valley.
