Sylmar - - On Thursday, September 8th, Anthony Doors of Sylmar recognized 13 of their employees engaged in a 40-hour leadership training program sponsored by the Job Training Program at Los Angeles Valley College. The five-week program focused on communication and listening skills, motivation, problem solving, and time management. The training culminated with employees identifying particular difficulties in their respective departments, and working in teams to come up with creative and cost-saving methods to solve these problems.
Anthony employees provided solutions and ideas to management that would foster better communication between departments, streamline work, and provide ways to save money with material, shipping, and packaging costs.
Expressing his satisfaction with the project, Anthony's senior vice president and chief operating officer Will Pack said, “Anthony has partnered with the Los Angeles Valley College Job Training on several occasions. Most recently, they conducted Leadership Training for 13 of our manufacturing lead personnel. It was extremely well received by all of the participants. They are excited about putting the valuable information they learned to use in their daily responsibilities.
We have plans to utilize this extremely valuable resource in the future.”
Job Training program manager Roberto Gutierrez echoed those thoughts saying, "We will be back to continue our work with management to assist with the further progress of their leadership training needs."
