STUDENTS WILL LEARN ABOUT THE NON-PROFIT INDUSTRY AND HOW TO WRITE GRANTS. THE COURSE WILL INCLUDE COMPUTER INSTRUCTION IN WORD, EXCEL AND POWERPOINT MS 2007. THE COURSE COVERS RESUME WRITING, JOB SEARCH IN THE HIDDEN MARKET AND OTHER CORRESPONDENCE. STUDENTS WILL LEARN HOW TO BE AN EFFECTIVE SUPERVISOR. STUDENTS WILL UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS OF PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN THE WORKPLACE. COURSE EXPLORES EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, PUBLIC SPEAKING, DIVERSITY, LEADERSHIP, NEGOTIATION SKILLS, CRITICAL THINKING, UNDERSTANDING GENERATIONS AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT. STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT IN LA FELLOWS TRAINING PROGRAM.
