Gloria Daims developed her professional experience and education in Spain and the United States. She grew up in Spain, where she completed an A.A degree in Exceptional Needs. She continued her education in Los Angeles, attended Santa Monica College and earned her Master's degree in Child and Family Studies from California State University Northridge.
Gloria has over 20 years of professional experience working with families and their children in the areas of early intervention, children and adults with exceptional needs, Early Head Start, Head Start, parenting education, Home visitation programs as well as being an Early Childhood Consultant for both local educational agencies and private schools.
Gloria's career as a Child Development Faculty begun in 2005 as an Adjunct Faculty at many different colleges within the Los Angeles Community College District including Los Angeles Valley College, where she is now a full time tenured faculty member. Some of her interests include Children with Exceptional Needs, Teaching English language Learners, and Multicultural Education.
Her educational philosophy includes "aiming high" (trying to get the best out of my students), finding the "golden nugget of brilliance" in all students and relating the class material into the student's own life experience.
Gloria loves children, pets (especially dogs), traveling, hiking, yoga, biking, reading, outdoor activities and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
