The IDEAS program provides a variety of workshops geared toward training entertainment industry professionals in technical and aesthetic skills. The goal is to keep entertainment professionals at a high level of proficiency in our ever-changing world. The grant is state-funded so it remains an affordable option with a flexible schedule geared to the working life of entertainment professionals.
IDEAS, the Institute for Development of Entertainment Arts and Studies, is a Regional Center of the Interactive Internet Mobile Applications for Business (IIMA4BIZ) Initiative of Economic and Workforce Development, a state grant geared toward keeping Californians employed at high paying jobs.
IDEAS attendees qualify for academic discounts on most software.

WORKSHOPS FOR MAY
The following classes are IDEAS' traditional three-weekend, four-hours-each weekend workshops. For computer workshops, if you already own the program and have a lap top, feel free to bring it.

Computer workshops are $60.00 for three weeks. If you are a member of Contract Services Administration Training Trust Fund (CSATTF), please call for details on potential match-eligible versions of certain workshops.

Photoshop Hands On 2/Special Projects (PSHO2): Instructor: Scott Greene (REGULAR: $60)
May 5, 12, and 19 at 10:00 AM. Continuation and refinement of basic skills including image adjustment options, filters and effects. This class is hands-on project based learning. Prerequisite: Some knowledge of Photoshop.
Flash Grand Tour/Hands On (FLGT1): Instructor: Scott Greene (REGULAR: $60)
May 5, 12 and 19 at 3:00 PM: Grand Tour plus hands on workshop for Adobe Flash, a powerful authoring environment for creating animation and multimedia content. Design immersive interactive experiences that present consistently across desktops and multiple devices, including tablets, smartphones, and televisions.
Pro Tools Hands On Extended (PTHO1): Instructor: Jennifer Penton (REGULAR: $60)
May 5, 12, and 19 at 3:00 PM: Teaches the basics skills including the tools for audio creation, plug-ins, organizing and assembling digital assets, planning workflow. This class is hands-on project based learning. Prerequisite, Pro Tools Grand Tour or familiarity with the Pro Tools interface.

May 6, 20 at 10:00 AM (no workshop on Mother's Day): Learn about the sometimes mysterious process of project selection, development, packaging, and "green lighting." Workshop provides an overview of the structure of the development department as well as strategies to navigate your project away from "development hell." Workshop also gives career advice for those seeking a future in development.
