L.A.V.C. DANCE PRODUCTION SPRING 2014
Are you interested in performance opportunities that will be presented in a professional theater with costumes and expert lighting design?
Spring semester, Los Angeles Valley College will be offering a dance production class, which will culminate in performances May 15, 16 and 17, in our Main Stage Theater. This is an opportunity for dancers to rehearse and perform their work in a supportive and creative educational environment. There will be showings throughout the semester, where participants can present works-in-progress to obtain faculty and student evaluations and feedback.
ENROLLMENT IS BY ADD CARD ONLY
DANCE STUDIES 814 – Dance Production I, which is a 2-unit class, or
DANCE STUDIES 820 – Dance Production II, which is a 4-unit class.
Everyone interested in participating should attend the first dance production class on Tuesday, February 11, at 6:45 p.m. in the dance studio.
DANCE PRODUCTION AUDITIONS
Casting audition will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 6:45 p.m. in the dance studio. Students should be dressed to dance, and will be taught several short dance combinations that will enable the faculty and choreographers to see the capabilities of the individual dancers. Students will then be selected for the various dances in the production.
All students enrolled in the class are required to attend the Tuesday evening workshop each week from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m. They will also attend the rehearsals for the dances for which they have been selected. Rehearsals will be scheduled at various times during the week. Students will fill out an availability form so that they are only selected for dances that rehearse at a time that they are able to attend. The week of May 12-17 students are required to attend every evening for technical and dress rehearsals, as well as performances.
