Photography 20, Beginning Photojournalism
Background
This course in beginning photojournalism is designed for photography and journalism majors, freelance photographers and article writers and anyone with a desire to learn basic photojournalism skills. Upon completing this course students will have learned basic camera and photojournalism principles and techniques, photo composition, picture layout and digital imaging concepts. Students will also develop the basic skills necessary to market their photographs.
Skills for success
Attendance
Regular attendance is absolutely essential. When absence is unavoidable,
it is the student's responsibility to make-up missed work and
to retrieve lecture notes.
Grading
Each student will earn a grade based on the total number of points
received for all assignments, a final examination, a final project
and a clip book project. Attendance and class participation will
also be considered when determining a final grade.
Each assignment (other than the exams and clip book will be worth a maximum of 100 points. The final project and clip book will be worth 200 points.
The following criteria will be used to determine the point
value for each assignment.
1) Does the work fulfill the requirements of the assignment? 2)
Technical quality.
3) Creativity.
Late assignments will not be accepted.
All final projects, re-dos, and clip books will be do on
