Final Week for the LAVC Art Gallery "Obscured Lines: Contemporary Drawing in Los Angeles" Exhibit
The current art exhibit featuring the work of nine local artists entitled "Obscured Lines: Contemporary Drawing in Los Angeles" will be featured in the LAVC Art Gallery from March 1-April 19. This exhibition, which is open to the public, features contemporary drawings in Los Angeles from notable artists such as Joe Biel, Jennifer Celio, Margaret Griffith, Kiel Johnson, Timothy Nolan, Elizabeth Saveri, Sergio Teran, Hataya Tubtim, and Alexandra Wiesenfeld. For these artists, drawing is not simply about making marks or empty gestures. It is core to the physical manifestation of an idea, feeling or experience. The works on display blur the symbolic line that rigidly defines drawing. Looking beyond traditional "works on paper," these artists demonstrate the process of drawing as experimental and exploration that is relevant to metropolitan culture in Los Angeles. The LAVC Art Gallery's hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. For more information, contact the LAVC Art Gallery at (818) 778-5536 or visit http://www.lavc.edu/arts/artgallery.html.

LAVC Art Gallery to Open a New "Obscured Lines" Exhibit on March 1
The LAVC Art Gallery will present a new exhibition featuring the work of nine local artists entitled "Obscured Lines: Contemporary Drawing in Los Angeles" from March 1-April 19 in the LAVC Art Gallery. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 1 from 6 - 8 p.m. This latest exhibition features contemporary drawings in Los Angeles from notable artists such as Joe Biel, Jennifer Celio, Margaret Griffith, Kiel Johnson, Timothy Nolan, Elizabeth Saveri, Sergio Teran, Hataya Tubtim, and Alexandra Wiesenfeld. The exhibition is open to the public. The show begins on Thursday, March 1 from 6 – 8 p.m., and will end on April 19. The LAVC Art Gallery's hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.; the Gallery will be closed during spring break.
