Dr. Nalepa has served as a consultant for Santa Monica College, where she has coordinated and administered business and industry training programs. She has also been involved in curriculum design, management, training and monitoring program effectiveness. Dr. Nalepa holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles; a M.B.A. from the University of Southern California; and an Ed.D in Computer Information Technology from Nova Southwestern University.

 

Laurie has served as assistant professor in the graduate and undergraduate business programs at National University. She also served as the Vice President of Student Services and Marketing at American Intercontinental University (AIU) from 1998-2001. In this capacity she developed programs that addressed student learning needs, created partnerships with area schools and businesses, and recruited, assessed and placed students who completed the university's programs. While at AIU, Dr. Nalepa served as the chair of the business and fashion marketing department for six years. She worked on course and program development and accreditation reports in addition to her regular department chair duties.

 

At the 2002 National Conference, Diversity in Teaching and Learning in American Higher Education, Dr. Nalepa presented a paper entitled, Pride and Prejudice, Overcoming the Gender Gap in Computer Science Technology. Participating in the 2002 Nova Southwestern Summer Institute, Dr. Nalepa presented a paper entitled, Conflict Resolution in the Workplace.
