Why travel and study abroad? To enrich your education, develop your self-awareness, understand another culture and, in the process, make new friends.

In the summer of 2013, LA Valley College is offering an unforgettable French immersion experience in Montpellier, a major city in the south of France that boasts the best of art, culture and history as well as the sunny beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. This month-long study abroad program combines French language and civilization classes, lodging in either a single studio in student residence housing or with a French family, a full schedule of tours and activities, weekend travel excursions, and plenty of time to explore the region on your own and with new friends from around the world. To ensure you get the most out of your Mediterranean college experience, the program fee includes:

Round-trip transfers from Nice Airport to accommodations in Montpellier

• AIFS representative services at airport transfer and orientation in Montpellier
• Four weeks of French language (60 hours) at the Institut Linguistique du Peyrou
• Four culture workshops for the French civilization classes at the ILP
• Cultural activities (eg, wine tasting, folk dancing, cooking classes, film nights) at the ILP
• Housing accommodations in a student residence or with a host family
• Six half-day guided excursions including transportation and entrances (see brochure)
• Three full-day guided excursions including transportation and entrances (see brochure)
• A month-long public transit pass in Montpellier

Depending on your housing option, the total price for all the above is:

• Accommodation in a single studio student residence $3665
• Accommodation with a host family $3845

Take advantage of this opportunity to develop fluency, earn up to 8 units of transferable credit, and discover one of Europe's most beautiful and historic regions! Space in the program is limited, so reserve your spot by clicking on "Program Documents" in the left margin and completing the application form. Submit the completed application, with a $450 deposit, 4 2x2 passport photos and a copy of the information page of your valid passport to Prof. Dominique Merrill in FL 105 no later than March 22, 2013. The final payment deadline is April 5, 2013. A group flight is available for $1,670. Group flight information is also included on the application form.
