SARSGRID & SARSCALL Accounts and Passwords

  • A "SARSGRID" account gives you access to the "SARSMenu" program.
  • A "SARSCALL" account gives you access to the "SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record" programs.
  • The "SARSMenu" program can be used from your computer or from the LAVC-SARSCALL server.
  • The "SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record" programs can only be used from the LAVC-SARSCALL server.
  • "SARS-VNC" connects you to the LAVC-SARSCALL server to use the "SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record" programs.
  • Getting a "SARSGRID" account does not give you access to use "SARS-VNC". Getting a "SARSCALL" account does not allow you to use the "SARSMenu" program.
  • To request a "SARSGRID" or "SARSCALL" account, contact Mr. Syed Hussain at extension 2657. After creating the account(s), he will put a WSO for the shortcuts to be setup for you.

  

SARSMenu program

SARSMenu allows you to schedule phone-call reminders for the students or other users. This is the program that you will use the most.

To use SARSMenu, use the SARSMenu shortcut in the Start menu. Logon using your SARSMenu username and password.

  

  

"SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record" programs

"SARS-VNC" connects you to the LAVC-SARSCALL server to use the "SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record" programs. A "SARSCALL" account gives you access to "SARSCALL" and "SARSCALL Record".

"SARSCALL" allows you to do changes to the defaults on how the phone-call reminders are done such as Do not make phone-call reminders outside the USA.

"SARSCALL Record" allows you to record your voice for the scripts used during the phone-call reminders. You will use your phone line in conjunction with "SARSCALL Record" to record the voice sequences that will be used during the phone-call reminders.

WARNING: Only one person at a time can connect to the LAVC-SARSCALL server. That includes people in your department or in other departments. Mr. Syed Hussain at extension 2657 coordinates access schedules for all the departments.

To use "SARS-VNC", use the LAVC-SARSCALL shortcut in the Start menu. In addition to the Logon box, you will also see the VNC Viewer Status box. Logon using your network username and password.

After logging, a window will open. Now, you are connected to the LAVC-SARSCALL server. In that window, use the appropriate SARSCALL shortcut for the program needed.

To use "SARSCALL" or "SARSCALL Record", logon using your SARSCALL username and password. To use "SARSMenu", logon using your SARSMenu username and password.

In addition, you will find support information on the "SARS support" link and the departments' schedule of access to the server on the "Server Schedule" link.

     

    For the most part, you will only use these programs only once when you setup your department defaults.
  1. SARSCALL Record: Use this program to record phrases for messages, counselor names and perform utilities on those voice files.
  2. SARSCALL: Use this program to setup the parameters for the calling process, call groups, and to monitor call progress.
  3. SARSMenu: Use this program to schedule phone call reminders. If you only need to use this program, do not use SARS-VNC.
When you finish, close the window by clicking on the on the upper-right corner. Do not log off or shut down the LAVC-SARSCALL server.
