Reggie Trotter wins the high jump with a best of 6' 6", Austin Allen continues his quest with a vault of 14' 9" and Angel Alcantar posts a PR of 9:10 in the 3000m.

WSC South Regional - March 1 at Moorpark

Women's Athlete of the week: Amanda Walberg
Winner of the 100m with a time of 13.22
Men
LAVC men performed well at the WSC south meet, as Stallone Watson leaps to a 23' 8.75" Long jump and teammate Jude Olea Triple jumps 45' 8" . Dylan Alexander runs a strong second in the 1500m with a PR of 4:02.97.
The trio of Austin Allen , Alex Hamidzadeh and Martin Lopez go 1-2-3 in the vault.

LAVC vaulters continue their quest in posting Personal records. Alex Hamidzadeh vaulted to a top spot in the state with a 15' 6" , Teammate Austin Allen finished 6th overall behind Alex. Weekly Accomplishment: 4th in 100m with a season best of 12.72, and 5th place in the 200m, and 3th in 4x100m relay.
Men
LAVC men finished a strong 4th in conference at the WSC inland meet. Most points were scored in the vault, the distance and the jumps.

Accomplishment: Ranked 2nd in Socal in the Pole vault and broke her own school record at the AVC invitational. She improved from 11'9" to 12'1.75".

LAVC men place 2nd overall at the AVC invite!! Stallone Watson has a great day finishing 2nd at 100m ( 11.11), 3rd at the 200m ( 22.40), 2nd at the LJ ( 6.83m) and 1st at the 110HH ( 15.44). Angel Alcantar wins the 5000m and the duo Austin Allen and Alex Hamidzadeh go,1-2 in the vault. Reginald Trotter places 2nd in the HJ with a leap of 1.98m.

LAVC men run and jump PR's at the Mt Sac Invitational. Austin Allen vaults the highest in the state posting a 15' 8" ( 4.79m), Dylan Alexander runs a 14:50.79 in the 5,00om qualifying him for So cal finals and Jude Olear leaps over 46' in the triple jump.

LAVC men place 6th overall in the WSC conference. Angel Alcantar wins his second title in the 3000m steeplechase with a 9:33.04, and finishes 4th in the 5000m. LAVC men score 52 pts .

Women's athlete of the Week: Jasmine Woods
Year: Sophomore
High school: El Camino high
Weekly Accomplishment: came back from injury to 5th in WSC finals in the 100m, to 3rd in Socal prelims, to placing 2nd in Socal and qualifying for the state championship with a season best of 12:06 in the event jjust behing the state leader.
Congratulations to Molly Pearlman and Jasmine Woods for bith qualifying to the state championship meet and placing L.A. Valley 17th in the Socal championships.

State Finals - May 17 and 18 at San Mateo

LAVC men place 14th in state, the best in WSC!! 3 All Americans!!! Austin Allen ( 2nd, 16' 02.5"in the Pole vault ) a personal best, Reginald Trotter ( 3rd, 6' 8" in the HJ), a personal best, and Angel Alcantar (4th in the 3000m steeplechase, 9:24.86) a personal best. All 3 athletes ran and jumped their best at the California state meet. 19 pts scored.
